Director James Pirrie will feature in the webinar, Financial Claims for Children on Divorce, including under Schedule 1 to the Children Act which will take place on 23rd May 2017.

Along with the emotional toil a breakdown in relationship brings for couples, those who are legal parents also have a duty to provide for their children financially on a divorce or separation. This webinar will look at the law surrounding financial claims for children, with a particular focus on those who are the children of unmarried parents. Topics to be covered include:

  • Financial claims for children of unmarried couples
  • Financial orders under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989
  • Child maintenance, capital lump sums, and transfer or settlement of property
  • Statutory and extra-statutory factors to be considered in such claims

James Pirrie is a director at Family Law in Partnership.
