Supporting YoungMinds on World Mental Health Day

Family Law in Partnership are supporting YoungMinds on World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2019.

YoungMinds is a charity providing support for children and young people’s mental health in times of crisis or at times of difficulty. YoungMinds’ mission is “for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges.”

It is alarming that recent statistics show that 10% of children (aged between 5 and 16) have a diagnosable mental health issue yet 70% have not had the appropriate support or intervention at a sufficiently early age.

Here at Family Law in Partnership we appreciate that children can find it really difficult when their families separate. We strive to provide points of contact for parents to assist their children at times of need or vulnerability and YoungMinds is a charity which can provide excellent support.

We also appreciate the support adults require at times of distress and upheaval like divorce or separation.

Our Parenting After Parting courses provide helpful guidance and support for separating parents. Our workshops cover issues such as what to say to children about separation and divorce, how children can be affected when parents split up, how to help children to manage grief and loss constructively and how to establish a parenting relationship with your ex-partner. We also provide counselling services for individuals and couples – more information can be found here.
