Pensions on Divorce – final report awaited

The Pension Advisory Group, of which Family Law in Partnership head of mediation Dominic Raeside is a member, expects to publish its final guide on pensions on divorce on 30th June 2019.

The issues surrounding the treatment of pensions on divorce are complex and there is scant guidance from case law. The Pension Advisory Group (PAG) was convened in mid-2017 with the purpose of producing a good practice guide for professionals in the field about the issues relating to pensions on divorce. The project has the support of the Family Justice Council and the President of the Family Division and is partially funded by the Nuffield Foundation.

Since its inception, PAG has produced two draft reports for consultation at http://www.nuffieldfoundation.org/pensions-divorce-interdisciplinary-working-group, held focus groups with family lawyers and pension experts, conducted an on-line survey, and given presentations at numerous events around England and Wales. PAG hopes to publish the final guide on 30 June 2019.
