International Academy of Family Lawyer’s LGBT Committee Survey

David Allison of Family Law in Partnership is chair of the International Academy of Family Lawyer’s LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) committee.

David has coordinated a global survey of the family legislation applicable to the LGBT community.

The survey was presented to the meeting of the IAFL at their conference in Palma, Majorca. It has also been published on the IAFL website (which can be found here)  and has featured in The Times Law Diary (12 September 2019).

The survey asked 60 questions about various areas of law (with a focus on family law) that impact on the LGBT community. It has been completed by IAFL fellow experts in the field in respect of their particular jurisdictions, representing 46 different jurisdictions therefore capturing an enormous audience. It is hoped that the IAFL committee will be able to expand and cover even more jurisdictions and in turn provide updates as the law changes across the globe.
