Alex von der Heyde, our practice manager, is now a World Cup champion!

Alex has been in Australia over Easter competing in the Hockey World Cup. Alex is a member of the England Masters’ Men’s 050s squad. They beat the host nation, Australia, in the final 3-1 today. In their last two major competitions England’s over 50s reached the final and ended runners up. They can at last bring back the World Cup for England.

In the pool stages England beat South Africa 6-0, Australia 4-3 and Canada 14-1. In the quarterfinals they beat Malaysia 4-0 and they went on to beat Germany in the semifinals 8-1.
